Haliburton Junction Skate Park

We are raising money and support for the Haliburton Junction Skate Park in Haliburton, Ontario.
Why your support is necessary:
Haliburton is a community with a small year round population, but we are mighty and our numbers climb exponentially in the summer. We have many youth in the community who are looking for opportunities for recreation. Many of the youth in Haliburton skateboard, scooter or BMX and could use an improved skate park. The current skate park has poor drainage and wooden structures that are beginning to fall apart.
The Haliburton Junction Skate Park committee was established in September 2015. The current park, just off Maple Avenue near the library is well used but is very small and has drainage issues. The Municipality of Dysart et al is redeveloping the parking lot area beside the A.J. LaRue Arena this summer, and council and the committee decided it was the ideal space for a new signature park.
Rob Poyner, a professional skate park designer and builder has been working with the committte to create an awesome design for a new park. It will be approximately 6000 sq. ft. and have features for everyone from a beginner to a pro. It will be ideal for skateboards and scooters. There is also room for a phase 2 if we are able to raise more money in the future.
The committee has been hard at work and has raised close to $100,000 to date but have been unsuccessful in receiving any large grants. The youth of our community need and want this park, and have led many small fundraising events themselves. We are reaching out to ask for donations at this time so that the park can be built this summer. All donations over $50.00 are eligible for a tax receipt from the municipality.
Our goal is to raise $100,000 in 100 days!
We know this goal is very ambitious and we are on a tight time frame to get shovels in the ground, but we are confident because we live in a generous and caring community that values youth. Major donors will be recognized on a donor wall integrated into the overall design. Every dollar counts, so please give what you can! Please help suport the youth of our community achieve this goal.
