A Future 4 Five Fatherless Children

Two weeks ago, on a Tuesday afternoon, two men argued loudly in the parking lot of an apartment complex. One of the men started to walk away, and the other man pulled out a gun, aimed, fired 3 times and then took off. Shot 3 times, the victim lay bleeding on the ground until a Sheriff arrived, and finally an ambulance rushed the semi-concious victim to the ER.
On Wednesday, May 4, 2016, my friend Sy, passed away. He was only 36 years old and a single dad of 5 kids.

Saadyar, "Sy", Roice Johnson- Akeim, 36, was a father, brother, a nephew, a friend, an entrepenuer, an intellect, an optimist, a dreamer, a diplomat, a collector, an investor, and an AMAZING cook! He opened his home up to many friends, family, (and even a few he didn't know very well at all), if they were having trouble making ends meet, and always tried to do right by the way of the Lord. He loved the Steelers, his fish tanks, BBQ's, couponing & budgeting, social media, throwing bday parties for the kids, debating, traveling, music, good food, good friends & most of all his family. "FATHERHOOD 1ST" used to be his 'signature' on all his text messages. He was a DEVOTED father, who raised his kids with a firm but loving hand, teaching them independence, respect, and the importance of family unity. He just wanted harmony and balance in his life, and to find happiness and peace within himself. He was on a constant journey trying to achieve that.
I think everyone is on that journey.
At least now we know he found that peace, and can rest his mind, and his heart...finally...

SERENITY is a 3 years old with enough heart and personality to fill a stadium. She's imaginative, creative, a little bit of a tomboy, and absolutely LOVES to be around other kids, and to hang out with her big sister, getting into ANY & EVERYthing! She always would stop me on the way out of their house if I forgot to give her a "hug & kiss".
SYANDENNAE, 5 years old, is in VPK, she is outspoken, opinionated, energetic, and is always on the move with Serenity, whether they are pretending to cook a feast for the family or singing along to FROZEN.
SANJE is 8 years old, loves sports, Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles, video games, and driving his sisters crazy!! Being the middle child has got to be tough..your older brothers are constantly messing with you and your little sisters are driving you CRAZY!.But..if I could say ONE thing about this boy, it's that he has SUCH a BIG heart, and always greeted me with a "Hey Ms. Caroline", whenever I saw him. He's a stand up kid.
SAADYAR, "SySy", Jr., is 15 years old and a an Honors Student at Wharton HS. SySy is probably the child I know best because he's friends with my son Gavin. He's funny, well spoken, respectful, smart, and he's a FANTASTIC big brother to the 3 youngest kids. His dad relied on SySy a lot to help with the younger kids, and to be a good role model. He doesn't disappoint.
ELIJAH, 17, almost 18, completed a program at a vocational school in Tampa, and is on the hunt for a summer job so he can help his mom with some bills, & spend freetime hanging out with friends and his brothers & sisters. He likes to play basketball, bike ride, fish, and is the spitting image of his father.

If YOU were to leave this earth suddenly, without warning, no time to plan, no last minute goodbyes, or phone calls to relatives, no hugs to your children...
could you rest peacefully knowing everything would be handled?? your finances, your possessions, your pets, your CHILDREN taken care of??
Some of us are blessed with close, loving friends and family that would OF COURSE do what they could to make sure all of this is done and some of us have the financial means to secure futures, keep food on the table & clothes on the backs of your loved ones.
But even friends & family with golden hearts have a financial ceiling that once hit, can't be raised. And those stocks and bonds, that LONG term would have had you retiring comfortably around age 65, haven't yet accrued enough ANYTHING to guarantee your children are fed & clothed for years to come....
The vast MAJORITY of us are probably NOT quite ready to exit this Earth tomorrow, for fear that our children would suffer from our unpreparedness for such an ill timed departure.

*The kids were split up in light of their father's passing. Serenity, Syandennae, & Sanje are currently staying with their Aunt in Tampa, while SySy joined his big brother Elijah at their mother's apt in North Tampa.
**The family is sorting through Sy's Estate to see what, if anything, will be left to help provide for the children after creditors are paid off and debts are settled. Any monies collected from this GoFundMe page will go towards providing for Sy's children.
