Families Belong Together - Everett

The intention for the funds generated by this "Go-Fund-Me" is to support the Families Belong Together - Everett, Washington Rally and March.  The funds will be used to create a successful event (rent canopies, sound system rental, etc. as well as provide promotional materials and generally defray the costs of this event).  The Amphitheater at the Snohomish County Courthouse Plaza has a stage and we'll provide canopies, welcome station, voter registration station, microphone podium, chairs/tables, PA sound system, etc.  This event is being planned by local community organizers who have planned and facilitated several recent civic/community events, including the March for Our Lives, the 2017 and 2018 North Sound Progressive Community People's Summit, and organized and/or assisted in others along with local grassroots groups and organizations.

Saturday, June 30th,  Families Belong Together - Everett, Rally and March, is being held at the Snohomish County Campus Plaza and Amphitheater, beginning at 10 a.m.  Local civic, community and faith-based leaders will be speaking at the event after we return from a short Sidewalk March (less than a mile).

The event coincides with a national action on Saturday in Washington, D.C. where communities will join to protest the recent policy of separation of children and families at the border, and demanding re-unification of families! 

Many faith communities and organizations throughout our great nation have denounced the administration’s policy as immoral; and internationally the policy has been deemed as a violation of human rights and heavily denounced.  Now there is concern regarding the challenges of reunification when some family members are being deported without their children.  This pattern of discrimination and disregard for our laws and traditions played a role in the establishment of the City of Everett as a Safe City, and the need to be ever vigilant in the fight for all of our community remains of paramount duty for all of us.
