This year I am raising much needed funds for CHILDREN'S HOSPICE ASSOCIATION SCOTLAND, and any donation will help make an impact.

WHO ARE  CHILDREN'S HOSPICE ASSOCIATION SCOTLAND:

All over Scotland there are parents caring for babies and children with rare and life-shortening conditions.

Some of them may have years with their child, some only months.

Children's Hospices Across Scotland, CHAS, are there for the whole family providing them with the support they need through Robin and Rachel House hospices, our CHAS at Home team and Diana Children's nurses.

WHY DID I CHOOSE CHAS?

I like many others  have the good fortune of being healthy most of my life.
Sometimes I have taken that for granted and it is only when you see the journey other families are taking that you realise the impact and importance charities such as CHAS have.

I have visited the Rachel House hospice  and seen first hand the impact the staff and the organisation as a whole have on the families and children living with rare and life-shortening conditions.

It is a truly moving experience and a place that brings great support and very much joy to all the families.

It is a place to celebrate life as well as assist with the emotional loss of a loved one so young.

It is a place where good people, do good things.

We can all do good things for others.

WHAT AM I DOING

As a fair runner I decided to up the stakes and will be running Three different running events, each less than one week apart.

The first in England, the second in Wales and the last in Scotland.

I call it Super September !

The first race is the Great Northern Run half marathon in Newcastle
Date: 8th September 2019
Distance: 21 kilometres, one of the largest half marathons in the UK

The second race is the Snowdonia Skyline in the high mountains of Wales
Date: 15th September 2019
Distance: 40 kilometres
Height Gain  3700M+

The third is The Ben Nevis Ultra in the high mountains of Scotland, including the UK highest Mountain, Ben Nevis.
Date: 20th September 2019
Distance: 52 kilometres
Height gain: 4,000m

MY HOPE

If we all donated even the amount of a single coffee, together we could reach this target.

These events will push me physically and mentally and I have no idea how my body will cope with the different and challenging terrain but I am ready to take on Super September!

Please help share this message, it will make a difference.

Thanks in advance for your contribution to this cause that means so much to me, CHAS and all the families.

Best Regards
Douglas
