Jihad's Lymphoma Cancer Fight

My brother Jihad was diagnosed with Stage 3A Hodgkins Lymphoma on December 6th, 2015. This came as a shock to everyone as you could imagine, especially since he wasn't sick.
My mom relocated to Maryland in July because my baby sister who has Sickle Cell wanted to attend college there, and because of her many health challenges my mom did not want her there alone.
Shortly after my mom (Jacquie) took Jihad to the doctor for a routine physical and they found a lump in his groin. Concerned the doctor referred them to a surgeon who thought it was a hernia. Jihad went into hernia surgery on December 4th, only for the surgeon to deliver the news that it was not a hernia, rather a very large lymph node.
Since that time it has been a world wind of doctors appointments etc. My mom is a single mom to the myself and my 3 siblings; she is our rock. I know this has been financially taxing on my mom because she is the only income taking care of us. She's had to take time away from work to not only care for Jihad and his appointments but also for my sister who has been in and out of the hospital since being in Maryland also. Because I’m in PA school in Buffalo I cant help as much as I would like, so I decided to start a GoFundme account. To know my mom is to know that she has ALWAYS helped everyone else. She will do fundraisers and whatever else she can for someone in need. She has always bent over backwards to make sure that we (the kids) have all that we need. I want to help take some of the stress away. To know my brother is to know that he is a gentle giant. I am hoping to raise enough to help with the many medical expenses I hear mom talking about, as well as the other financial obligations that come along with his journey. I am hoping that we all can help on this journey.
