Help Sweet Girl Get the Care She Needs
Meet Sweet Girl, or SG for short, the youngest member of our herd at Olive Branch Healing. At 10 years old, this Off the Track Thoroughbred (OTTB) was formerly a racehorse and has embraced her new life as a therapeutic horse, helping those to discover their hidden strengths. Her sweet and gentle nature has earned her the nickname Sweet Girl, and she brings joy to everyone who meets her.
Yesterday, SG faced a serious setback—she injured her left hind leg, puncturing her hock area all the way to the bone. Due to this injury she has already developed an infection. The veterinarian’s best recommendation is that she checks in to their facility so that they can offer her a sterile environment and care in a timely manner with all of the equipment they may need to help her get better. We believe that helping her to get the proper care and treatment she needs will help her recover and thrive. The vet estimates her stay to be somewhere between 7-10 days with an estimate of $5000 for stay in total. However, with proper care and treatment, we believe SG can recover and continue to thrive.
We are seeking to raise the $7500 to help cover these crucial vet bills as well as any additional services or supplies she may need after she leaves the vet for a full recovery. This will allow her to continue her career impacting the lives of many who are working through trauma as a therapeutic horse - whether she is rideable or not.
Your donation will help cover medical expenses, supplements, supplies, and ongoing treatments to give SG a fighting chance. Whether you are a horse lover, an advocate for animals, or someone who believes in giving second chances, your support can make a huge difference in SG’s life.
How Your Donation Will Be Used:
- $25 can cover daily basic veterinary supplies for Sweet Girl's treatments like bandages and cleaning supplies.
- $50 can help with daily medication or supplements for her recovery.
- $75 can cover the daily cost of board at the vet facility
- $100 can go towards an increase in hay costs due to needing stall rest after she returns from the vet
- $150 can cover daily regional antibiotic treatment and cleaning of the wound
- $250 can cover additional vet visits after she returns from the vet - there will be mandatory vet visits overtime to make sure she is heading in the right direction
Would you consider supporting Sweet Girl’s healing process so that she can continue to her work of impacting the lives of so many?
Thank you for helping Sweet Girl continue her journey toward health and happiness. Every contribution counts.
