Help Jessica Beat Breast Cancer

After months of waiting, tests, and worry, it was unfortunately confirmed that my friend Jessica (Attoe) Lowery was about to begin a fight that no woman, no mother should have to go through. At a young 40 years old, Jessica has been diagnosed with Stage 3 Triple Negative Invasive Breast Cancer. Jessica’s form of cancer is especially aggressive and not as common, making it more difficult to treat. Since beginning consultations her tumor has already grown in size and believed to have now metastasized into her lymph node. Jessica will have a port surgically implanted this week so that she can begin a 12 week round of Chemotherapy. Once her first round of chemo is finished her treatment plan is to then undergo surgery for a bilateral mastectomy, followed by another round of chemotherapy, and then also radiation. At this time Jessica has been able to shift to working from home a couple days a week but is struggling with this already as she is a single mother. It’s uncertain the effect all her treatment will have on her ability to keep this up and she is the sole financial providing parent for her two young children. Jessica has a few local support persons to help her in her day to day treatment needs but a lot of her biggest supporters are scattered throughout the US and are heartbroken to not be able to do more for her. We’re hoping that easing some of the financial stress that she is facing will help give her more of the strength she needs to focus on beating this cancer.
