Thank you for taking the time to read this. On August 16th, my dog Zussy went for a routine check-up where it was determined that she was anemic and she seemed to be fighting off an infection. She was treated for this but she seemed to be getting worse, rather than better. After another blood-work done on August 25th, it was determined that there was no improvement, she was immediately taken to the ER. An ultrasound was done and she has a tumor on her spleen that is also affecting her liver function(TBD. Possible Splenic hemangiosarcoma or lymphoma.) The tumor is pooling blood, making her anemic. Since she's so small, the tumor is creating discomfort towards her bowel and her bladder.
The doctors at Ocean State Veterinary say that her vitals are good and that she might have a chance of survival but that would mean a 5k surgery that I cannot afford.
Whoever knows me, knows that I live and breathe for my dogs. I work hard 6 days a week in order to provide the best food, service and life they could have.
Zussy is 11 and she's in great health despite her current issues.
I want to be able to provide for her, her best chance at survival.
She is receiving fluids and having hER blood level checked in as I write this and all of this is currently unfolding so I am scarce on the details but will be providing as the day goes on. Thank you so very much.
