Help Pablo fight liver disease!

Dear Friends and Family,
Hello! My name is Peter. I am Pablo's brother-in-law.
Many of you know Pablo as a strong, hardworking, dependable man. Unfortunately, Pablo was recently diagnosed with cirrhosis of the liver. Cirrhosis is a slowly progressing disease in which healthy liver tissue is replaced with scar tissue, eventually preventing the liver from functioning properly. He is currently in stage 4, known as decompensated stage. This stage is the most dreaded one as most doctors believe that a liver transplant is the only treatment option for patients in this phase.
As you can imagine this has been quite a shock for Pablo, his wife Michelle and their 3 children. Pablo has already undergone one very strong treatment, but unfortunately it failed. The insurance they have is denying approval of certain medications his doctor wants to try him on because they claim there is “no proof the medications will work at the stage his liver is in”. There was a small glimmer of hope when his doctor referred them to a free treatment that had opened up accepting new patients for trial of a new Hep C medication hitting the market. Unfortunately, they were turned away as well for the same reasons their insurance had denied them for. Recently, they have had their hands full filling out paperwork, calling other insurance companies, applying for financial assistance wherever possible and jumping from doctor to doctor doing medical tests and lab work. Pablo still tries to make it out of the house to work on his good days, but his side effects keep worsening. He experiences really bad cold/shivering epidsodes, so he spends his days in layers of clothing wearing sweaters and jackets when the weather outside is still extremely warm, he has rapid mood swings, trouble sleeping and loss of appetite.
At this point, the family doesn’t know what the total out-of-pocket costs will be to pay for his treatment or how long Pablo will be out of work, but we felt we needed to start something to help alleviate any financial stress so they can focus on Pablo’s treatment and road to healing/recovery. The money donated will be used to pay for medical expenses not covered by insurance and to help with daily living expenses.
