Help Put Fur on Zoe's Chest
Zoé was born on October 1st, 2016. We brought her home on Boxing Day 2017 from Quebec City. Zoé is a 8lbs dog with lots of personality, who loves to run, jump play and chew. She is also pretty clever!
Zoé was born missing one front leg and unable to use the other, so she uses her amazing body strength, will and back legs to move around. However, this puts stress on her back and chest. In the long term, this will create back problems and other issues that we want to avoid, so she can have a long and happy life with us.
Because she was different, nobody wanted her. However, we loved her the moment we saw her - pure instant love! To us she is perfect and couldn't be a better dog!
To help Zoé play and go for walks around the block, we are having a wheeled prostetics made by Pawsability.ca in Toronto. Janice, who created Pawsability, is amazing and knowledgeable. Zoé will greatly benefit having a cart for the rest of her life.
We have tried 3D printing a generic cart available online, but it just does not work for Zoé. The expenses of working with Janice are higher than we expected but we truly believe they are worth it! We would appreciate any support. Help us give help to Zoé, so she can enjoy the outdoors and maintain her long-term health.
The wheeled prostectics take several steps. On top of her chest cast, there are a cart and wheels to develop to her size and needs. Zoé is a very energetic and curious dog, so we want her to be able to walk on any surfaces (grass, asphalt, sand, mud, etc.).
Thank you from the bottom of our hearts.
Graeme, Claudia and Zoé.
