Help Lily Beat Cancer

Hello, my name is Alyssa. I’m creating a go-fund me on behalf of Lily Chandler, Misty Chandler and family.

Meet Lily. She is 14 yrs old. She is creative and kind. She loves animals, especially cats. She enjoys crafts and especially loves to crochet. She is very talented and self taught. Lily is just a very sweet and bright child.

Last Sunday she discovered a lump in her neck. After being seen at our local hospital, 2 days in a row she was transferred by ambulance to Devos Children’s Hospital in Grand Rapids. On Friday she was diagnosed with Hodgkins Lymphoma. Within just the span of a few days her whole families lives were flipped upside down.

Lilys parents Misty and Matt both work.

But like a lot of people, they are living pay check to pay check. Matt is using up his vacation time at the moment while Lily is in the hospital. Misty will have to do extended unpaid family leave to be by her daughters side for the next few months or so. The family also has no vehicle at the moment as the family vans transmission went out a few weeks back. Which adds a extra layer of complications looking at one parent needing to go back to work and one needing to take Lily to and from the hospital. The family also needs to create a sterile room for Lily for when she can come home. This means painting her room, redoing flooring, cleaning.

Having a child diagnosed with Cancer is every parents nightmare. It’s devastating and scary. Unfortunately this family is facing not only helping their daughter thru treatment but having to worry about how they will make ends meet. They have to worry about figuring out transportation, bills and getting groceries. Matt and Misty both work and receive no financial or government assistance.

I am hopeful that with this go fund me we can give them a bit of breathing room and take some of the burden off them. The funds received will go directly to Lily's mother Misty Chandler. They will be used to get a vehicle, so Lily and the family can get back and forth to the hospital. They will be used to create Lily a sterile room at home as her immune system is compromised. The family will need funds to help with groceries and of course help off set loss of income. Misty is facing not being able to work for months, so she can be available for her daughter as she undergoes chemo and other treatments.

This family has a long road ahead of them, facing many unknowns. Let’s make this journey a bit smoother for them, so they can focus on caring for Lily instead of stressing about finances.
