Helping After Harvey

My Aunt Janet is 79 years old. She is a retired Humble ISD teacher. She has no local family, only an older sister in Florida...although we consider her our family and the kids and grandkids call her Aunt Janet.
She lives a very modest lifestyle and was already barely getting by before the storm. We saved her clothes, a few personal belongings and her dishes. She lost her very old but paid off car, and her very modest but special to her furniture.
Her needs are small but so are her means. She only had a bed dresser and night stand, a loveseat, chair and end table, a small dinette and three lamps. But it was so sweetly decorated with a scarecrow and some fall leaves. She cared for it like it was a mansion, to her it was. She knew it would be her last home.
She is safely staying with my grandmother and she will be out of her apartment approximately four months if she can even return there. I fear that when the time comes that she needs help, Christmas will be upon us, donations will all have been made and life will have moved on for so many.
My hope is that she can use this money to begin to rebuild her life. She asked how someone is supposed to start over at 80 years old. I think her answer is "with the love and support of your community and friends."

UPDATE: My name is Catherine Gonzales. We live in Houston Texas and are fundraising for my Aunt Janet who lost her home & vehicle in Hurricane Harvey.
Aunt Janet was able to lease a vehicle and was approved for a new apartment. When the construction is done at her new apartment, these funds will be used to furnish her new home & pay for the new expense of a car payment, as her previous vehicle was paid off. I cannot begin to describe how much every donation has meant to her. She is so touched by your generosity!! Thank you!
