Help a Single Mom Out of Homelessness

Hi, it's me, Stefanie. My son has a friend whose family has fallen on extremely difficult times. His friend's mother is a single mom with no extended family in the US. Over a  year ago she was was dealt a sudden and extreme blow to her health causing her to be hospitalized for a long time.  Due to this, she lost her housing and her job. And, worst of all, lacking any family nearby, her kids had to be placed in foster care while she was incapacitated. 

She's since regained her kids and her health is on the mend. However,  the single biggest obstacle to rebuilding her life is the lack of a car. This has prevented her from getting work, getting to nursing school and the ability to take her kids to school and other functions. 

In my many dealings with this mom I am struck by how kind, giving, gracious and lovely she is. She adores her kids and is committed to giving them a better life. But she is at an incredibly precarious juncture. The lack of a car imperils her potential housing, employment education...EVERYTHING. 

I am asking my community, OUR community to come together and help this mom pass this critical moment and regain her life. I hope to raise over 20k so she can get a reliable used car, insurance, registration and a maybe one of those cool beaded seat covers - or not! Please give what you can.

Updated to add: We have exceeded our goal which is amazing. I will keep this GFM going for at least a few more days to help this mom also improve her living situation. We have worked miracles here and I'm grateful to each and every donor!
