Zishan, Sabah and their 3-year old son Eisah returned from England on Friday before the storm. Less than two days later they were evacuating their single-story home as the water was rising. They spent the night at their neighbor’s second floor watching as the flooding encroached into their home. It only got worse overnight and the next day many of you saw their rescue live on ABC13 by boat (Eisah’s shout of “rescue team” is still playing on TV!).
Now that we’ve returned to their home we see the damage is extensive. They are blessed to have family to lean on but without flood insurance we know the road to recovery will be long and difficult. The best thing we can do is help them bear the financial burden of the repairs. It's our hope that through this fundraiser we will reduce the amount of stress this ordeal has already caused them.
They have not asked anyone for financial assistance but we are sure any amount will greatly assist in getting them back into their home.
