Zion's Saving Grace

Donation protected
4  years ago, God blessed us with a son.  April of 2013 we found out we were pregnant after five years of trying.  Our baby boy was born with a lethal skeletal dysplasia that caused him to live for five months in the NICU and then pass away.  Many followed his journey and ours through the process.  We received several messages of how Zion's story of faith inspired and restored relationships.   My desire is to continue his legacy to inspire, bring hope in the midst of darkness, and healing to a broken place through my writing.  Zion had a Facebook page called Zion's Journey where we shared his progress with the world.  I also expressed my grief, vunerability, and encouragement via Facebook and diary entries.  I believe that God has called me to compile all of these posts and journal entries into a book,  along with some encouraging words for people who have, is, or will face anything remotely like what Kenny and I went through.  When you go through something so tramatic, often times you feel isolated physically and mentally.  I wish I'd had something to let me know that I wasn't alone in the way that I was feeling, and to let me know that there's still light at the end of the tunnel even in the midst of darkness.  I needed to know that I would smile again.  That is the purpose of this book.  I hope the story will bring healing to brokeness.  I am also going to record a version of Hillsong's "Oceans (Where Feet May Fail)", the song I song at Zion's Celebration of Life to be downloaded with the book.  And as you all can imagine, publishing is expensive, and I work on a nonprofit salary-haha.  So, I am seeking the help of my friends and family.  I wasn't going to do this(pride of course), but I said hey, why not give it a try.  There are different levels of sowing.  No gift is too small.  The funds will strickly be used for the creation, publishing, and marketing of the book, "Zion's Saving Grace".  The book is currently going to be self-published through WestBow Publishing, a Division of Thomas Nelson and Zondervan (a major Christian Publisher Company). Let's pray Thomas Nelson and Zondervan picks up the book so that even more people can experience it!  (They currently only publish with well known authors.) Thank you in advance for helping me to get this out to a world that is hurting.  I am forever grateful for your love and support.

Excerpt from the book:

"This book is to challenge us to be real in our relationship with God and to bring things to Him as raw as we can without all the pressure of feeling as if we have to be a certain type of Christian.  Instead of feeling like we have to “pray things off” or “speak in tongues” to receive deliverance, we can come to God in Spirit and in Truth.  Out of truth, God births deliverance, and through deliverance comes freedom.  My freedom came through worship.  I pray this book speaks to someone who feels like they have to hide their pain from others, being afraid of being judged or condemned.  My healing came and continues to come through the raw expression of my pain.  I express it through singing, writing, and crying, which are all forms of worship.  It was not until I was completely real and raw with God about how I felt, that He was able to begin the work of healing my broken heart and setting me free from depression.  He is turning my sadness into joy daily.  I am on the journey of redefining who God is to me.  He is turning my Grief into a story of Grace.
