Ziba My Afghan Interpreter
Donation protected
Ziba risked her life to serve as an interpreter for US Forces in Afghanistan. I served with the Civilain Expeditionary Forces and Ziba was by my side as we built schools and clinics and secured them in areas that were over run by Taliban. She helped my unit work with local tribespeople to find out where Taliban were hiding and where they were placing bombs, directly saving soldiers lives. She served bravely alongside US servicemembers because she believed in our mission to help the Afghans and defeat the Taliban. The women interpreters were especially valuable to us as many times it was the women in the villages who would share info with other women. Ziba was recognized with many awards and after 10 years of service she was able to get a visa to live in the US because her life was in danger. I am so happy she is able to be here in the US and she is safe! But she has nothing to help her start a new life here and needs our support. Funds raised will help to provide housing and household goods for her first few months while she is learning about life in the US and looking for a job so she can live independantly.
