Sharon Strong
When we think about inspiration and what inspires us most, we think about the ordinary humans who have done extraordinary things. We admire when someone has the ability and desire to be benevolent, hardworking, genuine, and holds a never ending supply of love. This person has an abundance of positivity that floods the room as soon as they enter, leaving the audience only to think, "Wow, they are having an amazing day..." or "Dang, she's a pocket full of sunshine!".
Those who know Mrs. Sharon Jewett can probably add a grocery list of other words to describe her... but I'm sure each and every one of you would put Strong at the top. That's what you have to be to live in Sharon's shoes. July 23rd 2018, Sharon was diagnosed with cancer for the 5th time. As stoic and inspirational as Sharon is, she is at a stage where she needs our help. And knowing that she will not ask for it, we (her work family) have decided to start this campaign to support her financially when she will need it the most.
Sharon's Story
Sharon has been a respiratory therapist for over 35 years and has spent that time devoting her life to taking care of others. In 2008, on her wedding anniversary, Sharon was diagnosed with stage IV metastatic breast cancer. By the grace of God, Sharon went into remission and stayed cancer free for seven years after undergoing multiple surgeries, chemotherapy, and radiation.
Seven years later she was re-diagnosed and has continued to fight cancer in multiple places in her body. This has involved multiple procedures, surgeries, injections, chemotherapies, radiation, and hospital admissions. After clear scans that she received in March of 2018, she will now be undergoing new chemotherapy for her fifth cancer diagnosis. She has continued to fight this battle for the past ten years and will courageously fight strong again.
Sharon has spent years donating her time and money to many charities and organizations throughout the community. She shares and passes along her love, prayer, and beautiful spirit to everyone she encounters. No one would ever know that Sharon is fighting this battle, because she takes it all in stride, continually, with a smile on her face.
