Disabled veteran family home

I am 85 years old, ready to go to assisted living with my wife of 65 years. I want to give my home FREE to a disabled American veteran with a small family.
The only way I can do that is raise enough money from many donors to reach a total of the market value of my home.
I would then pay off my mortgage and use balance toward my final destination.
That would allow me to then to give my house free of encumbrances to a deserving veteran chosen by an organization that would guide me to the right family. Suggestions welcome. I will be glad to receive counsel and documentation as required.
This process would allow avoiding much red tape, in my opinion.
This is not a scam and I can readily provide validations from many sources.
This may be an unusual request, and GoFundMe would be my broker, so to speak.
Hope this is acceptable and will be given serious consideration.
It may turn into a great way to get some of our great vets into a home with their families.
