Helping one of our own

My name is Jessica Heim and I work with Gil George and have seen his passion for helping with any project or assist any employee.

Hurricane Florence affected every person in our community in some way or another. Gil  is one of our own to be affected.  His trailer, where he lives with his daughter,  in Harlowe, NC was paid for and therefore he didn't have any insurance on the property. Currently his roof is unable to be saved and needs to be replaced. He has no electricity due to the water damage and yet he has was right back to work immediately to ensure Cherry Point could resume operations. 

FEMA has offered less than $1500 to repair his roof but this isn't nearly enough to cover the expenses to replace the entire area.

Gil is one of those guys that will give you everything he has and would never expect anything in return. He has worked with MCCS Cherry Point for over 20+ years and you will know him from his hard work overseeing the Devil Dog Gym, Hancock Gym, and around the Marine Dome to ensure the mission stays it's course. 

I will likely have to threaten him for him to accept this help but his soft heart will give in. His pride has kept him from asking for any help but we all know the ones that don't ask, are the ones that deserve it the most. Let's come together to help one of our own begin rebuilding his life and his daughters again.
