Je m’appelle Karim Abed et je suis l’initiateur de cette collecte de fonds pour ma sœur Zahia qui a besoin d'une intervention médicale immédiate. Zahia a lutté contre un cancer du sein en 2015, mais malheureusement, celui-ci est revenu de manière agressive en 2024. Cela a commencé par une toux mal diagnostiquée. Son pneumologue lui a prescrit des antibiotiques, mais la toux n’a pas disparu. Cela nous a incité à demander un deuxième avis, ce qui a donné lieu à une nouvelle inattendue. Après un PET scan, il a été déterminé que sa tumeur s’était déplacée vers trois endroits différents (poumons, os et cerveau). Les médecins ont été très rapides. Ils lui ont prescrit une chimiothérapie et une thérapie ciblée qui ont donné de bons résultats. Malheureusement, la tumeur cérébrale reste inchangée. En ce moment, elle suit une radiothérapie, mais rien n’est garanti car l’équipement médical utilisé pourrait être inadapté. Alors, j’ai décidé de contacter Anadolu (un centre de cancérologie privé réputé en Turquie). Avant cela, nous avons essayé le Canada et la France. Malheureusement, l’hôpital Princess Margaret de Toronto au Canada nous a demandé une somme exorbitante. Nous avons demandé un visa en France sans succès. En raison de la nature agressive de ce cancer, nous avons décidé d’utiliser les moyens disponibles en Algérie. La chimiothérapie a donné de bons résultats mais n’a pas eu d’impact sur les lésions cérébrales. Cela m’a amené à lancer cette collecte de fonds car nous pensons que la seule option restante pour un meilleur traitement est en Turquie. La somme collectée couvrira ses soins et son hébergement pour un mois á Istamboul. Zahia est mariée et a deux beaux enfants. Veuillez trouver le devis de l’hôpital Andalou ci-joint. Hello.

My name is Karim Abed. I am fundraising for my sister Zahia who requires an immediate medical intervention. Zahia battled breast cancer in 2015 but sadly, it came back aggressively in 2024. It started with a misdiagnosed cough. Her pulmonologist prescribed antibiotics but the cough didn’t go away. This prompted us to ask for a second opinion which resulted in even more bad news. After a PET scan, it was determined that her tumour moved to three different locations ( lung, bones and brain). The doctors were very quick to react. They prescribed chemotherapy and targeted therapy which gave good results. Sadly, the brain tumour is remains unchanged. It got even worse. At the moment she is doing radiotherapy but nothing is guaranteed as the medical equipment used might be unsuitable. I decided to contact Anadolu ( a private reputable cancer centre in Turkey). Prior to that, we tried Canada and France. Sadly Princess Margaret Hospital in Toronto Canada gave us an exorbitant estimate. We applied for a French Visa with no luck. Because of the aggressive nature of the cancer we decided to use the means available in Algeria. The chemotherapy gave good results but didn’t have an impact the brain lesions. This led us to start this fundraiser as we think the only option left for a better and adequate treatment for Zahia is in Turkey. The amount collected will cover her treatment and accommodation for one month in Istanbul. Zahia is married and has two beautiful kids. Your help means a lot to her and her family.
