Bob Foyle's Ohana Fund

Many of you have had the pleasure of knowing and working with Bob Foyle. This past summer, Bob moved from his lifelong home in Southern California to Texas, to become the Salesforce Success Director for Dell. He bought a home on Lake Travis, which he frequently said was his favorite place to be.

Shortly after, in October, Bob took a medical leave of absence from work as he was diagnosed with Stage IV Gastric Cardia Cancer that metastasized to his liver, lungs, and several lymph nodes.

Bob took on cancer like the true fighter he is. To date he has worked through 5 of 8 rounds of chemotherapy at City of Hope in Los Angeles. This has impacted his body very negatively. He lost over 50 lbs, has had 3 blood transfusions, and continues to have extreme sweating sessions and chronic fatigue. As much as he has been fighting, some recent tests showed that the cancer has not responded the way that everyone had hoped.

After speaking with the doctor, weighing options, and much soul-searching, Bob and his wife Frances have decided to return to Central Texas for the holidays, try to recuperate as much as possible, and enjoy the next few months in the place he is happiest.

This has been a devastating and emotional time for Bob, Frances, and their wonderful family of 5 children. It  is important to the Foyle family that people think of Bob as the strong, talented, smart, generous, humble, and athletic person he is. The best husband, father, step-father, son, brother and friend that anyone could ever hope for.

Many of Bob’s friends and co-workers are looking for a way to support him, show their love and Ohana spirit. In Hawaiian culture, Ohana represents the idea that families – blood-related, adopted, or intentional – are bound together, and that family members are responsible for one another. This is the culture of Salesforce, through and through. To that end, a few of us have set up this Go Fund Me account to help Bob and his family during the holidays, and in the challenging times ahead.

We are all blessed to have Bob in our lives.

To make you smile, below are some photos of Bob and his extended Ohana, as well as a video of Bob singing in the Children's Hospital of Orange County (CHOC) Follies fundraiser musical earlier this year in April 2016. He was always thinking of others first.
