Help Diego’s family through a challenging time
Donation protected
11/28 Update:
After spending several weeks in the ICU and a rehab hospital, Diego was discharged home just in time for Thanksgiving and got to spend the holiday with his family. While Diego still has a lot of recovery to do, overall, given the circumstances, he is doing great and is in good spirits.
His family is extremely grateful to everyone's donations which are supporting all the unexpected expenses and offsetting the hardship of lost wages.
Diego, a local preschooler, recently contracted RSV, an extremely common viral illness that resulted in the most uncommon of medical nightmares. A childhood illness that many of us have been lucky to experience with only minor, temporary distress has not only threatened Diego’s life, but may have also caused lasting detriments for him and his family.
Diego is currently in the ICU at Stanford, where he can get the most specialized of care. His family is holding vigil at his bedside. Out of respect for the privacy of Diego and his family, the extent of his medical condition will not be outlined here. But it’s safe to say that Diego’s recovery will be long. After clearing the significant hurdle of needing intensive medical support, Diego will undergo countless hours of specialized rehabilitation in multiple areas.
This fund was started on behalf of Diego’s family, by their fellow preschool parents. It’s our hope that Diego’s parents can spend their next several months focusing only on their sweet child, and not on the potential financial devastation that can come from so many lost work hours and costly medical bills.
