Help for Andy

Hi my name is lindsay and for those who don’t know my partner andy had a horrific accident in may ‘21 which lead him to stay in hospital for 14 months with serious injuries he had a traumatic brain injury,a tear in a vessel near his heart which he had to have a stent put in, multiple broken ribs, fractured L1-L3, diffuse axonal injury, right temporal bone fracture, a stroke and a cardiac arrest. This as you can imagine has left andy disabled and having to learn how to walk and do most things again. His right arm/hand has been damaged and he has very slight mobility in it he also has to wear a splint on his right foot in the day due to having drop foot. Andy is wheelchair bound although he can walk the about 10m but this is with a walking frame and assistant incase he becomes unbalanced. This horrific accident has totally changed andy and our families life. We have recently moved to a new fully adapted house which does help but there are still things we need for Andy. I’m not one to ask for hand out and this is very hard for us to do but seeing as everything is taking forever to get into place we are finding ourselves struggling slightly. Due to andys accident he has been left incontinent and at the moment we are having a pay for pads and wipes ourselves which aren’t cheap we also need extra equipment to help with andys rehabilitation. Iam also learning how to drive so we have more mobile and can get around to appointments more easily and of course those aren’t cheap either. We are grateful for any kind of donation it all means so much to us and we thank each and every person for your support
