Volunteering in the Phillipines

Hello! I am Olivia Hanson, a student paramedic from Wakefield and qualify in June 2020 .
In June 2020 I will be travelling to Iloilo in the Phillipines for over 4 weeks. During this trip I will be volunteering in two different hospitals, one the main hospital on the little island and the other a remote hospital with only 1-2 staff who run it. Both of these are very busy, understaffed, underequipped and are completely different to the NHS hospitals we see today.. in some cases, even the patients families will have to get involved!
Here I will be assisting in surgeries, delivering babies and working in front line emergency rooms- ambulances don't exist out there!
This trip alone for flights, vaccinations, many insurances and accomodation has come to £4,000; this is without money for masks, scrubs and other things I will need. Making my total around £6,000. Through hard work and love I have managed to work shifts around my paramedic studies and work, aswell as help from my family, to raise around £3,000.
Therefore I am hoping some lovely people will try get me to my goal of £1,500! Even pennies will be appreciated.
Don't worry you are not helping me towards a holiday of a lifetime, it will be challenging, demanding but rewarding and I will be blogging along the way.
