Hi all! Myself and a group of teens from my school district (WCCUSD) have started the Youth Solidarity Project, an ongoing project and movement that is aiming to catalyze change in our county and larger Bay Area community. In the wake of the violence, death, and brutality that has taken place in this country for centuries, there is no excuse for staying silent or complacent as Black and brown people are disproportionately targeted and killed over and over again. This is a systematic issue that does not just disappear. We will be organizing fundraisers, a march, and conversations throughout the month of June that I want to invite every single one of you to participate in.
The Youth Solidarity Project will be organizing in person (while following social distancing guidelines) ON MONDAY 6/8 at 3pm at Easter Hill Methodist Church in Richmond, CA. To successfully orchestrate this and the future events we are planning, we need donations. The proceeds made from this GoFundMe will go towards paying for supplies such as water, snacks, masks, sign making materials, and any other resources we need.
If you cannot provide a monetary donation, the Google form linked below will help you sign up to donate supplies or volunteer for setting up before and cleaning up after the protest.
