Youth Memorial Garden at Cornwallis Park

Living Romario’s Legacy (LRL) is asking for your help to transform Romario’s Flowers & Martins Memorial Space into a Youth Memorial Garden.

Over the past three years since Romario’s passing LRL has worked effortlessly to upkeep the flowers however as time has progressed we would like to plant permanent flowers, put up Fencing Screening to add a little more privacy to those grieving in the space and we are already in the process of working with Islington Council to secure Romario a permanent memorial bench.

We want to transform this space in honour of Romario Opia, Martin Dinnegan and everyone affected by knife crime. We’d like this space to be known across the borough as a sign of solidarity and togetherness against serious youth violence.

All donations are appreciated and will help us fulfil this goal

The purple boxes: Where we plan to plant flowers.

The blue boxes: Where we plan to take down the old fence screen and replace with a newer and longer fence screen.

The green box: Where we’d like to put up a banner above Romario’s bench.

The red box: Where the permanent memorial bench will be placed.

The white box: Where we’d place two slabs to ensure the already existing access/exit still exists.

The yellow box: This shows where we’d like to change the existing plants that are quite complex to maintain, to flowers that will blossom and signify the true beauty of the space.

There are also a few concrete planters that i’ve attached pictures of, these we’d like to use to plant even more flowers!
