Imagine surviving extermination only to face impossible choices like whether to pay rent, buy food, or get clean water for your children. Imagine having to choose between eating yourself or feeding your kids.
My name is Noorin Hasan, a Yemeni living in Texas. Two years ago, I met Hamza and Roba AlAbassi, an incredibly generous couple from Gaza.
Despite the ceasefire, Hamza and Roba are still struggling to survive. Some days, they skip meals so their children, Saif and Rita, can eat first. Their home was destroyed, and now they're temporarily sharing a small rented room with another family.
Every month, they face heartbreaking choices: whether to pay rent, buy food, or bring clean water for their children.
Roba used to tutor my son online. She has a Ph.D. in Education and is one of the best tutors we have ever had. Hamza is an exceptionally talented app developer and one of the most creative people I have worked with. They are kind, hardworking, and deeply generous, the kind of people who always give to others without hesitation.
Now, they need us.
Here is what it costs them each month to survive:
- Rent for the shared room: $600
- Water: $200
- Drinking water: $300
- Food for the entire family: $2,000
- Total: $3,100 per month
It is easy to feel powerless in the face of so much suffering. But here is the truth: while none of us can end this injustice alone, your action today can make a real difference. Your donation can give Hamza’s family safety, food, and hope.
Please give whatever you can, even $25 helps. And if you cannot donate, please share this campaign with friends and family. Together, we can give this beautiful family the lifeline they urgently need.
