According to the US Census Bureau 24 million children in America live in father-absent homes and a survey of American parents found that 9 out of 10 parents feel that children growing up without  their father is the number one issue facing the children of our society. 

71% of high school dropouts are fatherless. 

Children in father-absent homes are 4x more likely to live in poverty. 

85% of youth in prison have an absent father. 

The above statistics are a small sample of the vast number of startling facts related to children growing up without fathers present. 

Hunt Pray Eat, Inc. is a federally recognized 501(c)3 nonprofit organization and our mission is to connect boys growing up without fathers, with military veterans of strong faith and character in order to develop the boys into men of faith through shared experiences outdoors, who will be future leaders in their communities. We also aim to lessen the rate of veteran suicides through participation in our program. 

HOW THIS BENEFITS THE CHILDREN:
The benefit for the children is connecting them with strong male role models who can guide their hearts and minds toward a relationship with Christ through shared experiences outdoors, enjoying all which God has created for us. By nature, military members have strong hearts for service, and a deep desire to make the world a better place for all of us, so who better to mentor our next generation of men than military men who love Jesus?

HOW THIS BENEFITS MILITARY VETERANS:
It is no secret that suicide rates among veterans are among the highest of all demographics, as we lose roughly 22 veterans a day to suicide. Suicide has been linked to depression, anxiety and seclusion which aren't uncommon for veterans to experience as they transition from military life to life as a civilian. By mentoring children through Hunt Pray Eat veterans will have the opportunity to get connected with their communities and integrate in their communities while fulfilling their desire to serve others and make a meaningful, positive impact in the lives of their neighbors. The hope is that by helping veterans find new purpose after their military careers will allow them the opportunity to dedicate their time and energy to something meaningful once more, and to realize how significant they are as members of their communities. 

THE BENEFITS OF SPENDING TIME OUTDOORS:
Many people take every opportunity they can to get outdoors. The healing effects of spending time in nature are many, the majority of people who spend time outdoors are generally happier and experience less stress. Fresh air and sunlight are good for the soul, as well as the mind. Natural sunlight on our skin allows our bodies to synthesize vitamin D which has many roles in the body and is essential for optimal health, both physiological and mental. By creating opportunities for veterans and children to spend time together outdoors, our goal is to increase their overall health, wellbeing and happiness which will ultimately lead to more meaningful interactions. 

OUR SEAL:
Our beliefs and purpose are summed up in our logo itself. The triangle represents the Shield of the Trinity, but is also an arrowhead. It is the combination of the letters "A" and "E", derived from the words "Pr(a)y" and "Pr(e)y", representing our two greatest values, faith and the outdoors. 
Our core values can be found between the rings which represent eternity, and the circle of life, these values which we practice exist between our mortal existence and our spiritual, eternal life. The inner ring which represents eternity rests on the three points of the trinity; the Father, son, and Holy Spirit, as we believe an eternal life cannot be achieved without a faithful foundation. 
At the bottom of the rings you will find "MMXX A.D." or 2020 Anno Domini, which is latin for "in the year of our Lord", the year in which Hunt Pray Eat will become incorporated.

Our initial goal of $15,000 will be used to purchase insurance and develop a website, as well as planning, organizing and executing our mission.
