New Roof

Last year, we noticed water stains on the ceiling of our gallery. Even worse, multiple storms caused us to put a few buckets to catch the rain from our 27-year-old leaking roof! With the 2018 hurricane season upon us, we must replace our roof. As you may recall, we purchased the Arts Center after Category 5 Hurricane Hugo and refurbished the building to a community building that has offered countless art exhibitions, lectures, concerts, and classes and workshops for all ages, often free of charge. Our roots are deeply embedded in this space, and we want nothing more than to continue to offer the high caliber of programs and events you have come to expect from us. 

We have received several bids from licensed roofing contractors and have carpenters standing by ready to replace the shingles and rotted wood. What we do not have is the $10,000 to pay for the work needed. So, we are asking you to please help us. No amount is too small, and all donations are tax deductible.
 
Our plan is to create a community plaque where we will recognize the generosity of all who donate over $100 toward making the new roof possible.
