Yass FM and Geoff Frost are organizing this fundraiser on behalf of Yass FM.

We are a local community radio station that has been providing news, information and entertainment for the Yass Valley for over 20 years. We need a new home and we are only in temporary facilities up until September 2023. Fortunately, we won a Small NSW Community Partnership Grant of $50,000, but this simply isn't enough. We need to raise extra funds to lay the foundations and do the internal fitout, electrical and plumbing. This will mean we need to raise a minimum of an additional $40,000 over the next 6 months.

Without a permanent home, we will be unable to run the radio station, be able to store our studio equipment, create and deliver community service announcements (for clubs, groups and other not-for-profits), support local businesses, provide community broadcasting, podcast interviews, deliver training and support the volunteers.

The funds raised will help to pay for the fit-out of the new studio and allow us to continue providing the Yass Valley with a community radio studio into the future that delivers quality community radio and education services, that benefit everyone in the Yass Valley.

We have a team of over 20 volunteers (YassFM Presenters) and supporters from across Yass Valley. Recently Wendy Tuckerman and the Yass Valley Mayor, Allan McGrath, visited the studios to help us get our campaign underway. We are all very excited about the future of YassFM and are keen to gain your support to help realise our dream of continuing to bring YassFM to you everyday in a fresh new studio.

Examples of how we bring value to the community can be seen through our outdoor broadcasting and Presenter Training, as it's a way of communicating what's live and happening right now. Here's some examples:

We run training for new Presenters twice a year and this is a course that runs over a few weeks and provides a good balance of theory and practical.
