Yariel Suarez Family Support Fund

Yariel Suarez is a sweet little boy who likes to play with his toys and make close family happy.  He was sound asleep around 3am  on Thursday, February 6th when a stranger broke into his home looking to "kill someone." The man stabbed Yariel ten time in the back of his head and around his face. He was able to survive and will heal physically, but the attack has uprooted the family and will take a lot longer to heal emotionally.

The trauma will take a lot longer to navigate because Yariel also has high functioning Autism. Yahaira Suarez is his mother and my cousin. We are pretty private as a family and it took me a while to convince her that starting this fund raiser will be in their best interest.

I am hoping to fund raise $10,000 for the following specific things:

1. Replace his bed and a few new toys . Too bloody with stains and had to be thrown out.

2. Moving costs. They no longer feel safe and are staying with family.

3. Long term mental health counseling for Yariel and Yahaira. Both mother and son have been changed in a deep way by this tragedy and need the proper professional support.

Any additional funds will be saved towards a long term Education and support fund to help Yariel succesfully transition as he gets closer to his teenage years and early adulthood.
