Roofing Project
Within the span of one year, our family has undergone several tragedies.
My dad, a wonderful husband and father, was diagnosed with pancreatic cancer on April 9, 2012. The emotional and physical toll taken on Ernie's family is bad enough, aside from an ever-growing pile of bills. Trying to care for a family of four on the wife's income"”as Ernie was laid-off in the autumn of last year"”is, in itself, a serious challenge.
Within one year:
1. Ernie was laid-off.
2. We lost our health
insurance, as my mother is self-employed.
3. Ernie was diagnosed with
pancreatic cancer.
4. Our water heater needed to
be replaced.
5. Our eight year-old car died
and replacing the engine cost more than the car was worth. We are now leasing a
car.
Without any savings, we are barely getting out the bills.
Now there's the roof. It's falling apart, shingle by shingle. It hasn't been repaired in some time and the tiles are curling. Soon our roof will begin to leak beyond control. With my dad's susceptibility to any minute illness, leaks are not something to tolerate. This roof desperately needs to be recovered and we need your help.
We're
not asking for much, whatever you can afford. If you can help us raise
$7,600.00, there is one less tragedy that needs to unfold.
Thank you for your time and support.
Sincerely
yours,
Abbie
Claycomb, daughter of Ernie
