Yanil Martinez (My Mom) Cancer Treatment Cost
Spende geschützt
It all began with an emergency hospital visit July 24th due to severe pain in my moms upper abdomen. She was admitted to the hospital for a severely enlarged spleen. In which is not only causing her severe pain but is enlarged to over double the normal size and risk bursting. At the hospital they began running test, ultrasounds and blood work. Her blood work came back abnormal. They performed a bone marrow biopsy on her, they also detected changes in her bone. Due to all of these test, they suspected Leukemia. After a several day stay with many different test and a lot of strong pain medication she was discharged and she was then referred to a Hematologist/Oncologist. She was unable to get in with the specialist due to her not having insurance just yet with her new job. In which when she enrolled in her new insurance she declined coverage for Cancer, because who thinks they will ever be the unfortunate one to have cancer?
On August 14th her insurance kicked in and she was finally able to get in to see the specialist. The Doctor gave her devastating news that she indeed does have cancer. Not Leukemia, rather Myeloproloferactive Neoplasms. Which is a slow growing cancer of the blood which if not treated will become Leukemia. And unfortunately there is no treatment for adult leukemia. Her cancer is at an advanced stage for where this cancer is normally caught at. On August 15th she began Oral Chemotherapy. She will also need Stem Cell Transplant in which we pray her body will not reject. Prior to the transplant she will have Chemotherapy Radiation. Due to her not having insurance during her hospital stay and many costly test she has a lot of medical bills that she is unable to pay. Not including medication and future doctor visits, treatments and chemotherapy. All while she will have to keep a full time job in order to keep her insurance. She doesn’t know how bad her side effects will become during chemotherapy. And if she will be able to stay working. I’m asking for donations to help cover medical cost, treatments and testing. Anything will help her financially during this time. Thank you so much for taking the time to care and read her story. If you are unable to donate please keep her in your prayers. My mother is my best friend and I have faith that she will beat this disease. She cannot do it without prayers! Please pray for God to lay his hands over her and heal her. Thank you.
