I have set this site up for my daughter, Stacy Leann Atchley-Craven. Stacy has been ill since January 2015 and we are still in the hunt for a definative diagnosis.
She is a registered nurse, lives in Flagstaff, AZ. and was unable to work due to the sever symptoms she was experiencing. When her FMLA ended, she found herself without a job, insurance, or a source of income, but plenty of bills! The co-pays for medical care has been tremendous.
Currently, her COBRA payments are being paid for by family so she will have some type of coverage system for her medical treatment, testing, etc. However, there are the co-pays for medications, lab, hospital stays, testing, radiology/neuclear medicine scans and she has more ordered!! One test alone is $10,000. She has filed for disability and Medicaid, unfortunately, that is a process in itself!
She is staying with a friend in Flagstaff that is doing the best to help her out financially their finances allow!
Finally after 8 months we have been put in contact with an Oncologist/Endocrinologist who has made more progress in finding the answers than we have in the previous 8 months of testing and surgery. He has indicated that it is almost 99% sure that he will be sending her to a special research facility in Iowa for Carcinoid Cancer, which is a very rare neoro-edocrine cancer and often very difficult to locate because of it's small size, however, the symptoms one can experience are very debilitating. The two specialists she has been working with practice in Mesa, AZ. approximately a 3-4 hours drive one way for visits and testing.
We have always been a hardworking, proud family, coming together to work things out, but this thing is beating us up!
The only thing we are asking is that you pray about her and her needs and let God be your guide as to how you might be able to help. If your gift if prayers, that is priceless and appreciated!
