Birhan Desta Estifanos, the mother in this beautiful family (pictured in the middle), came to Canada on Sept 14, 2018 with her three children reuniting with her husband Daniel Nigussie Feleke (also pictured in the middle) after five years. Within three weeks of arriving in Canada Birhan was diagnosed with cancer and passed away this week. This happened days after Daniel lost his brother. Daniel and the kids are devastated.
Although I have never met this family, through a common friend I am trying to help them raise the funds to give Birhan a dignified funeral back in Ethiopia and help cover the cost. I plea with everyone who reads this to stop by and donate a small amount and also spread the plea for love and support.

In keeping with the beautiful habesha tradition, let's show Daniel and the kids that we stand with them in prayer and financial support in their time of trials.
I have given Daniel full access to withdraw funds raised here.
Edit: This week I had a chance to meet with Daniel and the lovely kids and learned that Daniel has been incurring hefty medical treatment costs (not covered by OHIP as Birhan was new to the country) in hopes of saving her life. I have raised the target for this campaign to $15,000.
