We are Jeramie & Andrew Andehueson. In May of 2010, we began our relationship together. We instantly fell in love and decided to make plans for an eternal future together. Our plans consisted of getting married, building our careers, relocating to the Bay Area of California where all are welcome, and creating a family. All have been accomplished thus far, except our family. As many of you may know, we are very big in supporting our community, for which we love; including the Kiwanis Club of Alameda, The Elks Lodge of Alameda and the Oakland East Bay Gay Men’s Chorus. In addition, we have also been very involved in many community charity events, raising thousands of dollars, so that those less fortunate can do and have things that may seem out of reach, such as college, food, clothing, health and a clean city. Also we are big advocates for fighting for equal rights for everyone. Lately more issues have been arising, that we are unwilling to stand by and let happen. One of these is fair IVF/Surrogacy health insurance laws for everyone including same-sex partners in which we have made some good progress.
This being said, WE NEED YOUR HELP! An IVF/Surrogacy baby making journey is more costly for us, as we are not covered at all through health insurance. The amount for our whole journey is in the amount of $100-$125k. We were fortunate enough to have recently received a grant through a nonprofit organization that would cover approximately half of the total cost. They have matched us with an agency in Oregon, who would like to start this journey within the next 30 days. They are also willing to help us with a small loan covering about 20% of the total cost. This leaves us having to pay about $40k out-of-pocket. We received and signed a contract with them and in that contract was stated that we need to have $25-$30k in an escrow (savings) account within the next 30 days before they will even begin. If we are unable to come up with this money in the allotted time, we could lose all grants.
We are hoping that our friends and family, that we love so dear, can help us. Anything helps. We are also hopeful that the positive energy and hard work that we have put into this world, will come back full circle in this situation. All we want is a happy and healthy baby.
