The Bethany (Lasonde) Stricker Memorial Scholarship
~~A Yearly Scholarship Award for a
Junior Nursing Student . ~~
This scholarship award is in memory of Bethany (Lasonde) Stricker, a graduate from the 2001 nursing class at Saint Anselm College. Sadly, Bethany lost her battle with Crohn’s and Ulcerative Colitis this past May 2015. Bethany touched so many lives and this scholarship is designed to remember a beautiful person and the qualities she demonstrated as a nurse, colleague, and friend.
Beth was a dedicated, committed, and diligent student, spending long hours studying and helping her classmates. She consistanely demonstrated the "art" and "science" of nursing practice by caring for patients and families through empathy, advocacy, communication, and holistic care.
Beth embraced being a Christian and her faith was a constant influence on her life, her nursing career, and during her illness.
Beth spent many hours volunteering during her years at Saint Anselm including participating in the first Road for Hope and organizing a program for elderly companionship. She had a passion for cheerleading for the Anselmian Hawks and continued to coach in her home town after graduation. As a nurse, Beth greeted all her patients and co-workers with a smile. She was always able to fine the humor in nursing, which made her patient’s love her even more. She was a compassionate advocate for patients and was always willing to go above and beyond to provide quality nursing care.
The Bethany Lasonde Memorial Scholarship Award is an effort to recognize a student who emulates these similar characteristics.
Our hope is to continue to remember our beautiful friend and to treasure the impact she had on so many people.
