No hair in memory of Rosa

On the 9th of January 2015 I lost one of the most important woman in my life, my Aunty Rosa.
On September 26th throughout a fundraising evening, I will be shaving my head. I am hoping to raise as much money as I can for the Canberra hospitals oncology department.
My aunty Rosa was first diagnosed with cancer 20 years ago, and experienced several relapses over the years to come. Whilst undergoing weekly treatments at the Canberra Hospital Oncology Unit, she continued to work full-time, provide for her husband and two sons, whilst fighting a courageous battle with cancer. Her will power to win that battle was inspiring! Rosa always said ‘La Dolce Vita’ (Italian for "the sweet life" or "the good life"). This was her life motto.
December 2014, Rosa’s health started to deteriorate and she was hospitalised for a final time. Fortunately her doctors afforded her a day pass, which allowed her to spend one last Christmas with her loved ones, a moment which meant everything to Rosa her family. Not long after on January 9th 2015, one of earth’s greatest angels gained her wings and left this earth, may she now rest in peace cancer free.
Over the years the doctors and staff from the Oncology Unit, not only took great care of Rosa but they provided comfort and support to the family, for which Rosa was forever grateful for. With that said it would be an honour for our family to give back to the Oncology Unit, and help them continue to provide comfort and support to many other families currently affected by cancer.
My goal is to raise awareness and provide a generous donation to the Canberra Hospital Cancer Centre Radiation Oncology Unit.
