Dublin Marathon for Charity

Tax deductible
This October, I will be taking part in the Dublin Marathon, in aid of the Alzheimer’s Society of Ireland, a cause that is very close to my heart.

As some of you may know, my father Wayne was diagnosed with a form of dementia known as frontotemporal dementia a year and a half ago, following years of underlying symptoms that went undiagnosed. He was 57 at the time. Since then, we have seen a rapid decline in my father’s quality of life due to this illness, leaving him in need of help around the clock, carers, and lots of support from family and friends. As a result, our family has been supporting and caring for him as much as we can, changing our lives completely as we try to care for the man who has cared for me for the past 20 years.

Dad is, and has always been, a big advocate for being active, and for doing things that you believe in. This marathon is definitely going to be challenging but I am looking forward to getting going and raising money for what I really believe in!

The Alzheimer’s Society aims to help people in a similar position to myself. Anything you can donate would be greatly appreciated! :)
