An estimated 24 million Americans are unemployed and battling housing insecurity. An estimated 9 to 17 million children live in a household in which they are not eating enough because the household can't afford it. This is the direct result of the coronavirus pandemic's devastating impact on the U.S. Elected officials sit in a stalemate over the next stimulus package and thousands of Americans are still without the federal unemployment benefits they need to maintain basic standards of living.
The long-term solution may be to seek out and vote for public servants whose platforms and ethics align with the best interest of society at-large so the country doesn't find itself in a similar situation in the future. Until that magical day, we can all do something for our communities now.
The #URLIFEMATTERS fundraiser will make it possible for vulnerable families to maintain a quality standard of living in these uncertain times, whether that be through financial assistance for rent and utilities, healthy food to eat or supplies that make learning and working from home less worrisome.
The gravity of what we're dealing with is more than any one of us can manage, but I do believe that every bit of concern, backed by quick, tangible solutions in the form of cold, hard cash, is a step in the right direction. Any contribution is greatly appreciated. As a token of appreciation, top donors will receive a gift.
Many, many thanks!
