Cancer Can't Win
Spende geschützt
Independent, a warrior, hilarious, loving, and vivacious, Bianca Davis, is among the 40,610 women in the U.S. who are expected to die in 2017 from breast cancer. Currently, she is struggling to maintain some semblance of a full life as she fights her second bout of cancer.
Here is some of her story:
Bianca is a 38 year old, mother of a 9 year old son. Although a native of New Jersey, she currently resides in Atlanta, Georgia. She is a graduate of Cheyney University of Pennsylvania. While matriculating at Cheyney, she pledged Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Incorporated.
Bianca was initially diagnosed in 2013 after finding a lump during a routine self-breast examination. Immediately, she sought medical attention. After undergoing testing, the findings revealed that the lump found in her breast was indeed malignant. Bianca underwent a lumpectomy and courses of treatment. Treatment was a success and Bianca was deemed cancer-free. In remission, Bianca continued to live her life, as a single mother, daughter, sister, friend, businesswoman, and world traveler. In the Fall of 2016, Bianca’s world stood still. She found another lump, this time under her armpit. In shock, grappling with the notion that a cancer that was once a forethought; has now returned to disrupt and possibly put an end to the life that she was reestablishing for herself and her son. Again, she sought medical attention. The findings were not favorable; the cancer had returned and is now in her lymph nodes. Since December, 2016 Bianca has been hospitalized several times for various cancer related complications. In February, 2017 she was placed in hospice to transition. Weighing only 110 pounds and in chronic pain, Bianca returned home. Once home, Bianca was being cared for by her mom, uncle, son, and friends. Through God’s Grace and Mercy and the unceasing prayers of family and friends, Bianca is recovering. Her quality of life has improved drastically. She is eating and is subsequently gaining the weight that is necessary to undergo further treatment, which would afford her the opportunity to recover from cancer! Throughout this tumultuous battle, Bianca’s willingness to fight this disease so that she can live to raise her son, is ongoing and stronger than EVER!
We are asking for your support as Bianca undergoes her next course of treatment. In every life situation we have a choice as to how we react. As our dear friend and sister (soror) continues in her journey of life, we are calling on your help! Maybe you cannot be physically present with Bianca but instead can show your love and support by providing a monetary donation. These funds will assist her in her care and help to reduce some of the stressors that accompany a serious illness. Your dollars will be used to honor her life and offer hope. Your generous contribution will indeed make a difference in her life and the life of her son, family, and friends.
