Helping Refugees Rebuild Their Life
Donation protected
Several of us went to Calais on the 4th and 5th of February. We took two vans full of warm clothes, tents, sleeping bags and boots to the camps. I saw where the aid went and I can vouch for the fact it was greatly appreciated.
We would like to continue helping and have now focused attention on the UK. A lot of the refugees are making their way to Birmingham and are in temporary accomodation awaiting news on what will happen next on their journey.
We have used late donataions to help clothe and feed these people and have also collected toys for the children .
These people have had horrific journies - one lady I have recently spoken to told me how her husbnad was beheaded and her children killed. She is now in the UK alone and speaks no English - as you can imagine she is terrified and extrememly low.
We are asking for donations which will go towards buying clothes, toiletries, food and toys for those in Birmingham. We are also trying to find people who are locals that speak arabic, kurdish etc to befriend some of the more vulnerable people who are feeling very alone.
Any donation is so greatly appreciated!!
Thank you xx
