Help Jennifer BEAT Cancer!

Hi! My name is Sarah Brown. I am a longtime friend of Jennifer’s. Together with her mom, Sue, we have set up this GoFundMe for Jennifer. If you have ever met Jennifer, you know that she would do ANYTHING for her friends and family. Now is the time for us to come together and help her win this battle.

A few months ago (March 2022), Jennifer began experiencing inflammation in her ankles, quickly moving from there and following in her hands and other joints. While going through various testing and procedures to determine the cause, an ultrasound revealed swollen lymph nodes in her neck. A biopsy was completed and confirmed it to be Non-Hodgkin Lymphoma, an aggressive (fast-growing) cancer. The good news is that this type of Lymphoma can be CURED. Her treatment will be six inpatient sessions (5 days at a time) of chemotherapy, completed in 3 week intervals. Further tests and procedures will be done over the next week and a half to determine the stage and exact type of lymphoma she is dealing with. These are the last steps before her treatment starts and they are pushing for chemotherapy to start in early June.

The emotional, physical and financial obstacles she is facing are extensive. This comes as a significant burden to her and her family, as anyone can imagine. Jennifer is self-employed and it is anticipated that she will not be able to work during this time. Her husband will need to continue working full-time to cover the minimum expenses. She will be receiving treatment in San Diego. Most of her support system/caregivers live out of state (California) and will be flying in and out in shifts to ensure she gets to the treatments and appointments she needs.

With the help and unwavering support of her amazing husband, Mom, Dad and countless family and friends, Jennifer is taking a proactive approach to this illness and plans to battle it with every tool at her disposal, conventional and otherwise. She is keeping a positive mindset, and we do not doubt that she will survive this and have many long years ahead of her. However, medical expenses and her inability to work at total capacity will bring significant financial hardship. Therefore, we humbly ask for any contribution to help see her and her husband through this difficult time.

Jennifer has told all of us repeatedly, “I will be fighting this to be cured! I have faith and trust in God to pull me through this. I have already seen His handiwork everywhere. I have the BEST family, friends, and the BEST Medical team together to get me there.
