Hello Everyone,
I know we can all relate to the challenges the COVID-19 pandemic has placed upon each of us. The pandemic has strained each of our lives in an unique and unprecedented way. Together we have embraced this culture of change and even thrived in certain ways. But like many things, we often forget the challenges that we have overcome.
Even as many states move towards reopening, the COVID-19 pandemic continues to place a huge strain on our healthcare system. In this week alone, 12 states saw record highs in new COVID-19 cases proving that this pandemic is far from over. In Philadelphia, city health commissioner Dr. Thomas Farley said that there are many reasons to be concerned due to these figures. Therefore, as we begin to resume our daily routines, let us not forget the sacrifices of the hospital workers who put their lives at risk to keep us safe and treat the sick. To thank these individuals, I began this fundraising campaign to raise funds to continue to provide them support through providing them warm and comforting meals.
All donations towards this fundraiser will go directly to feeding the staff of the Thomas Jefferson University Hospital Emergency Department. I am looking to raise enough money to cover meals for at least one day’s worth of shifts. Any additional donations will go towards covering any costs associated with the pandemic and feeding additional shifts.
