In desperate need of a car

I became a widow in the year 2000 I raised 3 daughters while went back to school for nursing to provide for my family. I had the same job for 17 years in a nursing home.. last year I lost my job..my youngest daughter and I have been struggling since.. we went to Florida to stay with a family member and tried to make a life down there but life was terrible down there so my daughter and myself had no choice than to come back to New York a friend of mine who I have been friends with since middle school said we can stay with her until we find jobs and an apartment what I didn't know is that she was a drug addict needless to say I left and went into a shelter with my daughter.. my daughter has mental issues depression bi polar anxiety I haven't been able to get her meds without insurance so her condition is getting worse.. she's not used to living like this. What I desperately need is a car which mine just died forever and I had to junk it which makes things that much worse.. I need a car to find us jobs get to the job then search for housing.. I am so worried about my daughter she has been sleeping in her boyfriends car while I am on a friends couch.. just having a car I can pick her up and spend time with her and we can go job hunting and make appointments at department of social services for help with medical benefits and maybe help with finding housing for the both of us. I was always able to stay afloat if I needed something I would do overtime or whatever I needed to do to get out of any financial issue. I never asked anyone for anything but I am so desperate at this point I am giving this a shot. A friend is selling their car which I know is dependable at a a very good price which is $1500.00.. which is what I need to raise if all possible..
