Robert passed away peacefully on October 19, 2023 at the young age of 49 after a 10 month long battle with cancer. He is survived by his wife Sokhom, 11 year old son Bobby, and 7 year old daughter Sylvie. He was a loving husband and father and was the foundation of his family. Becoming a father was his greatest joy and his family will always treasure the time they had with him.

Robert made friends everywhere he went and was always willing to help. He enjoyed having long conversations with his friends and had a way of really listening so he could give thoughtful, meaningful advice. He will be remembered for his detailed stories, love for Disney, dry humor, sarcasm, and cravings for burgers and sweets.

Robert also had an impactful career at the Department of Water Resources as a Civil Engineer and left a lasting impression on all of his colleagues. His passion at work was spending time in the field for construction and inspection projects and would often say, "I love my job." Over the past 15 years, he made many contributions to DWR and will be greatly missed by his work family.
