3-D Printing Prosthetic Hands

Donation protected
We are a newly formed student organization at University of Texas at Austin called e-NABLE at UT-Austin, part of the international umbrella organization e-NABLE .

The purpose of our student organization is to create and provide free, customized prosthetic hands to children in the Austin area. We utilize the university's 3-D printers to print small parts of hands and assemble the hand parts using a few extra materials such as elastic, velcro, screws, and finger grips.

We hope to secure sufficient funding by the end of October 2017 so we can continue to make hands without being so constrained by our limited budget.

Because we are a new group, we need some small baseline funding in order to grow and effectively continue to build 3-D printed hands. The money raised will go toward buying a higher quality 3-D printer to make higher quality 3-D printed hands, buying the extra materials listed above that are required for hand assembly (each hand costs roughly $50 to make), and advertising our organization to students on campus to expand and make a larger impact on the surrounding community.

A donation would be tremendously helpful in assisting our cause. We cannot wait to grow and experiment with more hand designs and other ways we can help children with missing limbs!
