Mom's Funeral Expenses

This is very hard for me to do.....or even write about. As many of you know our mom passed away yesterday. She fought for a while but her body shut itself down. I was personally lucky enough to spend her last few days with her. Although she wasn't awake I hope she could feel my presence. She was able to pass away peacefully and painlessly. Yesterday was a hard day for our family because mom was so young. She was only 66 years old.  I talked to mom everyday multiple times a day. She was very loved by everyone. She had a big heart and would help anyone she could. We would really like to celebrate her life with a proper funeral. However, she did not have life insurance. We have spoken with the funeral home and it will be around $5,000 to $6,000 including flowers. We have signed the form for them to pick her up. We now need to pay half of the cost up front before they will hold any services. So we have to have at least $2,500 this week. I did not want to personally reach out to anyone for the fact that I have created a go fund me account before. However, the situation is different and I really feel like mom deserves a proper funeral. I would not be okay with myself having it any other way.  If needed I can post the receipt from the funeral home. I hope that all my friends and famiy know that I truly would not reach out for help unless it was needed. Weather you are able to help or not plese know that if my mom were here for one more day she would tell everyone how much that she appreciates them and their thoughts and prayers. We hope that friends and famiy will be able to join us at the funeral. I will post the date and times when we have them.
