Worries Be Gone for the Gonos

What started as an effort to take the edge off of an expected major clean up effort for Marine Gonos and his family has turned in to a full recovery effort.  Since my initial post - the Gonos family returned home to New Bern to a complete loss of home, contents and vehicle.  Due to the housing shortages and widespread destruction in New Bern they have moved in with family in Mobile, AL.  They are now: jobless, homeless and heartbroken.   They have to do the hard work rebuilding their lives. For a family who has served so honorably please help me give back.

The Gonos family lives 2 doors down from my family in NewBern but their situation could not be more different after Florence.

Ashley and I met on Facebook while trying to get information on the neighborhood and hoping for the best for each other.  While my in-laws escaped with water in the garage and the loss of a few tools, this beautiful family of 7(!) has lost everything and still isn't home yet.

One of their vehicles flooded and was totaled.  All furniture in the house and possessions are believed to be a total loss. They have to move in with family as the house is not livable, and the landlord plans to sell after repairs.

Ashley works as an admissions counselor.  Chris is a disabled Marine who stays home with their blended family ages 7- 7 months. As if he's not busy enough, Chris is studying criminal justice & criminology. He’s planning to work towards law school after his bachelors whenever he’s able to start back again. 

School will be put on hold while they get their lives back together and try to return life to some kind of normal.  Ashley will need to continue to work through this to maintain an income for the family.

My goal here is for you to dig deep and help me raise money to cover the deductible for the totaled car.   Any additional money will go to cover the out of pocket expenses that insurance, FEMA, won't cover.
