World Book Day fundraiser

Did you know that almost 10% of children living in Hull don't have a single book at home? World Book day is Thursday March the 3rd and we'd like to give a book to as many of these children as possible. Reading for pleasure at home is linked to better literacy and developing a life long love of reading. As a charity Hull & East Yorkshire Children's University (HEY CU) is able to buy books in volume securing a large discount on the retail price so to buy a book for a child age 5-7 costs just £3.10 and for a child age 8-11 just £4.89 Every penny donated will go directly towards buying books for children. HEY CU works with primary schools in areas of disadvantage and the schools will make sure the books go to the children who need them most.
